Herat Earthquake: The catastrophic disaster which shaked the west of Afghanistan.
In Herat Earthquake lots of people were severly wounded or injured.

Calammity in the face of us!
During the earthquakes that hit heart city in October 2023 the earthquake caught the people of heart by surprise resulting In the collapse and demolishing of many houses all over herat province . Keep in mind the people who were most effected as of the result of these earthquake were the refugees, poor , disabled of war and widows. Unfortunately as of now a great number of people still live in houses made of clay rather than standard houses . If hit again the earthquakes will result in bigger catastrophe.
Biggest Catastrophe in the west of Afghanistan which took thousands of lives and left an everlasting wound of the hearts of people of Afghanistan.
SRO In Action
The team of SRO was very quick to act when these earthquakes hit herat city. Rising funds for the people who have lost their home in the harsh earthquakes. Our activities consisted of :
Rising cash money to build houses for the people who lost their home. This project was brought together and complete assistance by the team of SRO to act and rebuild houses for those had lost their home in Zindajan district of herat city. With the collaboration with CEO of Azizi group , Merwais Azizi. In total 280 houses were built along side school , hospital and park for the zindajan district residents .
Rising cash and partnering with Turkish consulate in herat province to provide waterproof tents , water and food for the people of herat ,in total 10000 families all across herat were benefited from these tents .
Distributing cash money for families who lost their parent as result of war and were either disabled of war or widow who didn’t have capabilities to work. each family received 3000 afs (42.2 $) for a total of 2380 families were supported.
Distributing of food packages consisting of 25 kg rice , 7 liters of cooking oil , 5 kg of red beans, 5 kg of white chick piece , 1 kg of suger and 500 grams of green tea . totally 2365 families of disabled of war, widows were supported . with the help and supervision of Turkish consulate AFAD .
Too much people were buried under the ruins. The casualties exceeded 7000 and is considered one of the tragedies of Herat.
SRO In Results
The S.R.O team has done its part on helping these affected of earthquakes but it doesn’t mean the threat is over. As of right now more and more people are living is houses made up of clay which aren’t resistant against earthquakes and floods . this number exceeds every day as the forceful return of Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan. The Team of SRO proposes a plan to make cheap and reliable houses to countre these issues .
